RV Park Map

What do I need to send to get a map drawn?

Two things to start. Four more before it prints, and none of them have to be perfect.

Short answer

To start: a site list with numbers and types, and an aerial photo, a plat, or a hand sketch on paper. That is enough for us to begin drawing. Before it prints we also need your rules and camp information in your own words, your logo if you have one, your contact details as you want them printed, and your approval of the proof. Nothing needs to be a professional file; we have worked from napkin sketches and phone photos of a whiteboard.

To start

  • A site list. Site numbers, types, and lengths if you have them. A spreadsheet, a printout, or a photo of a handwritten list all work.
  • A picture of the layout. An aerial photo, a plat map, a screenshot from a satellite view, or a sketch on paper.

Before it prints

  • Your rules and camp information, in the words you use at the window.
  • Your logo, as a vector file if you have one, otherwise the best image you have.
  • Phone, website, address, and emergency number as you want them printed.
  • Your approval of the proof.

What we do not need

Professional artwork. Exact measurements. CAD files. A designer. We draw the map from what you have, and we ask questions when something is unclear rather than guessing.

The one thing worth getting right

The site list. If numbers are wrong or sites have been renumbered since the list was made, it surfaces at the proof stage and costs a round of changes. Walk the park with the list once before sending it and the rest goes smoothly.

Related questions.

Do I need a professional site plan?

No. A spreadsheet and an aerial photo are enough. We have worked from hand sketches plenty of times.

What if I do not have a logo?

We will set your park name in a typeface that suits the guide. Plenty of parks have no logo and the maps look fine.

Can you use a Google satellite screenshot?

Yes, as a reference for the layout. We draw the map rather than tracing the photo.

What if my site numbers changed recently?

Send the current list and tell us what changed. Catching it before we draw saves a round of proof changes.
