Who owns the map file, me or the printer?
Ask this of anyone who makes your map, because the answers vary and it matters later.
Short answer
With us, you get a digital copy of your map to use on your website, in confirmation emails, and on signage. The print-ready layout with the advertisers in it stays ours, because the advertisers bought placement for a term rather than permanently. If you buy the maps outright with no advertising, the whole guide is yours. Ask any company this before starting, because some hold the file entirely and you cannot even put your own park map on your own website.
What you get from us
- A digital copy of the park map itself, for your website, emails, and signage.
- The right to use it however you like for your own park.
- Printed guides for your guests.
What stays with us is the print-ready guide layout containing the advertisers, since they bought a twelve-month placement rather than perpetual rights.
If you buy the maps outright
Then there are no advertisers in it and the whole guide is yours, file included. That is one reason some parks choose to buy rather than sponsor.
Why this question matters
Parks put their map on their website, in booking confirmation emails, on a board at the entrance, and in their check-in packet. A company that holds the file entirely blocks all of that, and parks usually discover it at the moment they want to use it.
What to ask
"Do I get a digital copy of my park map, and can I use it on my website?" A clear yes is what you want. Anything vague means ask again in writing before you start.
